Those who are just learning photography are taught one important basic thing, to keep the hands steady when taking a photograph.
Blurring occurs when the picture gets out of focus because of an unsteady camera held by an unsteady hand. Hold the camera in such a way that would not be uncomfortable and would not make the hands shake.
If you are using a compact and light weight camera, this could be easier to hold so it is more advantageous compared to heavy cameras. However, the light cameras could also get easily swayed with a strong gust of wind.
Hold the camera with both hands for this gives it more support and is steadier than the one handed hold. This is especially important when trying to click the shutter, if the hand moves down with the finger, again there would be blurring of the image.
Try relaxing the shoulders and the arms but don’t relax too much either. If the shoulders and arms are too tense they easily tire out and then the tremors and trembling occurs. If they are too relaxed the hold is not firm either. Remember Goldilocks’? The grip has to be just right!
When you are about to trip the shutter, slowly exhale and then trip. Do not inhale when doing this for this will shake the camera and again the result is a blurred image. Try practicing breathing exercises when you do this so it becomes almost like second nature to exhale slowly when tripping.
When you aim the camera, make it a firm aim but the grip has to be relaxed also. Breath and when you are ready to trip, exhale, do this while holding the camera steady so make sure you do not put it down as soon as you trip. With that trick well practiced, anyone can get a clear picture.
